The metaphors of JOURNEY enhance persuasion because they conceptualise any political activity so that it is referred to as a journey with positively evaluated destination (Koller and Semino, 2009: 12). Those metaphors suggest to recipients that politicians are aware of where themselves or the state really wants to go. Recipients are also aware that it is sometimes necessary to exercise patience and overcome obstacles which come in their way (Borčić, et al. 2016:14). They can also help in representation of morality and righteousness by showing whether something follows the path or strays from it, having a big manipulative power. Representing country as doing a movement creates an impression of togetherness and an illusion of mutual victory and success.
Most obviously, JOURNEY domain possesses a MOVING frame - path is a space on which something is moving. It also possesses a ORIENTATIONAL frame, in which there are certain elements organized in a orientational way. In addition, it has a frame for the CONSTITUENT PARTS of the path, such as landmarks, entities which accompany travelers along the path, obsticles to motion, etc. Moreover, the domain of PATH consists of a FUNCTION frame that provides information about who use the path, in what ways, and for what purpose(s).
